The Human Powered Vehicle program (Stretton Racing) has become one of the flag ship programs for the college. Students participate in a number of Human Powered Vehical races throughout the year, with each race drawing enthusiastic students, parents, teachers, spectators and technology exhibitors together, in an action-packed celebration of technology, teamwork, youth, innovation, perseverance and imagination.
The link below highlights the magnitude of HPV events. Stretton State College has participated in a range of HPV events over the past five years, with the Maryborough event being one of the most significant races.
Stretton has won first prize in three of those years for 'Design & Innovation and Design Make Race', we also won Junior Mixed and Athlete's with Disabilities divisions and placed third in Senior Mixed in 2015. In 2016 we managed one win and two second places from our four teams competing. Our real achievements has been in the success of taking out 'The Best Pit and Support Crew' award over consecutive years. The squad has consistently set the benchmark to which other teams aspire in all facets of the sport.
We feature in the RACQ promo video- RACQ Tech Challenge featuring Stretton State College.
