The transition from primary school (year 6) to junior secondary (year 7) is an exciting and important time. Each year, Stretton State College engages students in a transition program, where students have the opportunity to attend and experience our Illaweena campus.
Our future Year 7 students participate in the Year 7 Experience where our current Year 6 students from the Gowan campus rotate through a selection of specialist subject across a three-week period.
This culminates in a full transition day where all future Year 7 students from our school and others, join together to meet their teachers and class members through a day of learning and discovery in our high school setting.
In 2020, the full transition day is Friday 4 December. Students attending this day are students who are enrolled at Stretton State College for the 2021 school year.
