Students at Stretton State College have the opportunity to study music as a subject from Prep to grade 12. As part of the classroom music program, students also have the opportunity to participate in school choirs, school musical, and other extra curricular performances.
Music Extension
Stretton State College offers music extension as a subject for students in the areas of performance, composition and analysis. This subject is available for students in year 12 who are also concurrently studying the parent subject of senior music.
This subject is ideal for students who have a passion for music and may be considering a career in the field of music.
School Productions
Stretton State College prides itself in giving students across the College the opportunity to be involved in the performing arts. One of the unique opportunities for students is to perform in the school musical. In 2017, with a cast of over 200 students, Stretton State College is performing the classic musical The Wizard of OZ. This will be staged at the Logan Entertainment Centre on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 June. Taking centre stage was a range of students across the college including our fantastic leads, featured dancers, Gowan chorus, musical band, and backstage crew.

School Choirs
Stretton State College has developed a strong choral program through the formation of several school choirs. These choirs target students across a range of year levels. The rehearsals for these groups are:
- Illaweena Choir (years 7 - 12)
- Senior Choir (years 4 - 6)
- Junior Choir (years 1 - 3)
- Prep Choir (for students in prep only) - starts term 3
